Aviation weather forecast package

A useful place to start - this is a BoM service that requires you to "Accept Use of Content" as a condition of entry.

The information pack includes the latest MSLP analysis chart, satellite image, local TAF and METAR/SPECI, Area QNH, Australian SIGMETs (except Volcanic Ash), local weather observations, ARFOR, public weather forecast and 4-day prognosis charts.

There is an option to obtain a 'charts only' content from the package

Victorian Soaring Forecasts

Victoria- link

Due to the VSA providing funding for a server, and a lot of development work from Matt Gage, VSA members now have a new Soaring Forecast site for Victoria and Tasmania, and covering much of NSW.
This model is closely related to RASP, but will be upgraded every 6 months as new information is released, which hopefully should ensure a more consistent standard of prediction.
The images are created using the existing DrJack RASP software. These are overlaid on google maps using software based on that created by Paul Scorer in the UK.
New forecasts are created twice each day and cover the next 6 days of flying. The first 2 days are at a very high resolution (good for wave, etc), the following 4 days are at a lower resolution (but still higher than the previous RASP). Today’s forecast should be ready by about 7:30am and tomorrow’s forecast should be ready by 7:30pm.
The server will keep about 100 days of historical forecasts, depending on available disk space.
Please provide feedback so that Matt can make relevant updates as required.
