VSA Regional Safety Manager
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark White as VSA’s Regional Safety Manager (RSM). The RSM's role is to encourage and support Victoria's gliding community in the development of a proactive safety culture that also complies with the spirit and intent of the GFA Safety Management System.
Mark took up gliding at the Mangalore Gliding club in 1999, where he enjoyed the exhilaration of winch launching old wooden gliders into uncontrolled airspace. Following the decline in flying activity at that site, Mark became a member of the Melbourne Gliding Club at Bacchus Marsh, making the transition to the more genteel way of getting glass ships airborne by aerotows. He also made the transition to the club's glass ships, before "investing" in a DG100 in which he enjoys the local - if somewhat more challenging - soaring conditions.
